Watched the awesome 1990 futuristic action thriller - split second starring the great Rutger hauer and the lovely kim cattrall for the very first time the other night - I seriously enjoyed this one,it's tense, fast paced, funny(the banter between hauer and his partner) and has loads of atmosphere,in short it's 90 minutes of pure fun!

Watched this on the UK 101 films blu ray release (rental) which transfer wise seemed a bit all over the place with the picture being sharp one moment and then soft the next but overall i'd say it was none too bad!

Will definitely be looking at picking this up for purchase at some point,a great flick 8/10.

I've got pentathlon on an anchorbay UK blu ray atomik,it's a fun movie and like you say David soul couldn't have acted any more over the top if he tried, his performance was hilarious!

The blu ray for it is not to bad,the picture and sound are both adequate and best of all it was cheap,I picked it up for just under 4 UK pounds.

Not one of Dolph's very best but still well worth checking out!

I give both these films two Dolphs and a Rutger [Big Grin]

This turned up on AMC the other night :

 -

Blood Games (1990)

When an all-female team beats a bunch of rednecks at the ballgame, the movie shifts gears
to become a survival thriller, not unlike The Zero Boys a couple of years prior to this one.

B-movie legends Ross Hagen and George Buck Flower show up, but for most of the girls Blood Games was
their only movie credit, except for Laura Albert who may not be well-known as an actress, but appears to be
a very busy Hollywood stunt-woman whose credits include many big-budget blockbusters.

In the end credits it's said that Blood Games was produced in '89, but the Imdb lists this as a 1990 release.

Check out the trailer : www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQECajKouqE

Pure exploitation at its finest, 80's style ! [Cool]

Tried to watch Can't Hardly Wait (1998) with the commentary track on... sadly they had invited Seth Green to join and he, for whatever reason, insisted on doing it in an unfunny and really dumb sounding posh British accent. I could take about ten minutes of that, and that was it. What an idiot.

Watched Raw Justice (1994) aka Good Cop Bad Cop.

This was fairly entertaining b-actioner directed by David A. Prior.
Lots of familiar names among the cast: David Keith, Robert Hays, Pamela Anderson, Leo Rossi, Charles Napier and Stacy Keach.
Keith plays ex-cop who is a bounty Hunter. He gives a fine tough guy performance and takes Pam roughly in a warehouse.
Pam didn´t like how the scene went and has said that it was a nightmare. She goes to bed with Hays too and he´s much sweeter guy [Wink]
The film is filled with chase scenes, nudity, silly characters and stupid but fun one-liners. Good stuff!

I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed this. -

J2Me, Singles is one of my favorite films.
Watched Point Break last night. I can't believe they're releasing a remake in a few days! Why can't they just leave the classics alone!

Russel Brand is not funny at all. I have never heard him say anything even remotely funny. Rik Mayall on the other hand is a comic genius.

Watched Barb Wire (1996)

I think that this was a surprisingly decent actioner set in 2017 and based on Dark Horse comic book.
I love Pam and she did pretty fine here, gotta love the outfits [Smile] Xander Berkeley, Udo Kier and Steve Railsback co-star.
The movie flopped badly and they canceled the comic book soon after until last summer it returned so how about a sequel... anyone... [Cool]

A young man,Patrick Channing, born out of an incestuous relationship, and enduring an emotionally ,psychologically scarring childhood, gives in to the dark side of Satanic forces and becomes a weapon of evil. He kills with such ferocity that he becomes the main target of the L.A.P.D. Detective Russell Logan(a specialist in catching serial killers) engages in a battle of wits with Channing in life and after death. It appears that Channing can't be stopped, but Logan has a few tricks of his own to match Channing's-"First Power". - Taken from imdb

Awesome 1990 action thriller starring lou diamond philips as L.A detective - Russell Logan who is on the trail of the creepy 'pentangle' serial killer - patrick channing who is menacingly played here by Jeff kober (above poster - right hand side) who when finally captured is sentenced to die in the gas chamber but after his execution is carried out he (channing) then returns from beyond the grave as an evil demonic spirit to continue his never ending killing spree and also to seek revenge on the detective (logan) who finally brought him to justice!

Moves at a lightning pace this one with many a great set piece involving some really crazy stunt work, few plot similarities here to the previous years wes craven horror flick - shocker but the lack plot originality aside this is a really entertaining thriller!

Looks superb on blu ray as well where to the point that in one scene you can easily spot a wire attached to one of the stunt men when he's falling from a high rise apartment.

Highly recomended 8/10.

https://youtu.be/p8VNdos7yew - the first power trailer (1990).

Felidae (1994)

"A cat must investigate brutal murders of other cats in a neighbourhood he has moved into with his owner."

Very good. The animation is really well done.

Fugitive Rage (1996)

"Tara McCormick is sent to prison for the attempted murder of a local drug lord named Tommy Stompanato.
Inside, she befriends Josie and is approached by a government agent to finish the job she started in exchange for her freedom." (IMDb)

This was quite average b-actioner from Fred Olen Ray (Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers etc.).
Wendy Schumacher (now Alexander Keith) gives a nice tough girl performance but the action scenes are clumsy.
Look out for sexy Nikki Fritz in a small role as house nurse but i was extremely disappointed that Shauna O´Brien decided to keep her clothes on in this one [Wink]

Watched Naked Souls (1996) starring Brian Krause, Pamela Anderson, David Warner, Clayton Rohner and Dean Stockwell.

Pamela is still a goddess but overall this movie was a mess.
We have body swap themes, shaman powder, some technical mumbojumbo, forced love triangle and lots of nudity.
Could have worked in the 80s but in the mid 90s it feels artsy fartsy waste of time.

Watched Busted (1997) which was a totally bonkers two Corey´s film.
Cheap jokes, beautiful babes, Ron Jeremy, Elliott Gould and a hard rockin´ theme tune performed by Paul Shortino.

College Kickboxers (1991)

Nothing new in this low-budget martial arts film but you gotta love Tak-Wing Tang´s performance.
This man really has some skills so it´s a shame he didn´t do more films back in the day.

Watched Frankenstein: The College Years (1991).

Few decent jokes in this tv-movie and it´s always nice to see William "Fright Night" Ragsdale.
Also starring Christopher Daniel Barnes, Larry Miller, Andrea Elson, Patrick Richwood and Vincent Hammond.
Director Tom Shadyac´s debut and he hit it big few years later with Ace Ventura, The Nutty Professor etc.

Watched Final Round (1994) the other day.

"After a recruiter sees him winning a bar fight, Tyler Verdiccio is kidnapped and thrown into an abandoned industrial complex
which has been converted into the arena. Along with his lover, Jordan, and another kidnapped man,
Verdiccio is hunted by mercenaries in a televised death duel which is the main event for a multi-million dollar gambling racket." (IMDb)

A decent Lorenzo Lamas vehicle but not among his best films.
Also starring his then wife Kathleen Kinmont who shows some skin, Anthony De Longis and Clark Johnson.
Few nice fight scenes and one-liners but it feels like a second rate Running Man and the wandering around the warehouse gets old pretty fast.
