Some critics argued that the movie was just a gender-reversed version of the previous hit Pretty in Pink

Although Mary Stuart Masterson found true love at the end of "Some Kind of Wonderful", her true love ending came to a violent end for her a year before when she was shot to death in "At Close Range".
Hardy Jenns and some of his band of pampered peers make an unexpected brief first appearance in the movie as Keith gets out of the car driven by Watts and at once faces the villian of the movie.
was the original Marty McFly in the film "Back To The Future". However, the film's Director allegedly worried after the first few days of shooting that Stoltz could not carry the humor he wanted. Although Michael J Fox was busy still with Family Ties, he was allowed to film BTTF in the evening after the show's shooting finished.
