George Kooymans, founding member and lead-guitarist (as well as occasional lead singer) of Golden Earring, has died from ALS-related issues.
Needless to say, this is big news here in The Netherlands, as Golden Earring (or The Golden Earrings as they were called in the early days) is the oldest and most successful rockband in Dutch music history (formed in 1961 !).

British singer, songwriter and guitarist Terry Reid passed away at age 75 after battling cancer.
Reid famously rejected offers to be lead singer of both Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple.
Several of his songs were included on the soundtrack of Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects (2005), most memorably To Be Treated Rite from Reid's Seed Of Memory album (1976).

Mark Volman (Flo, of Flo & Eddie), founding member of The Turtles (of Happy Together fame), passed away at age 78.
In 1970, Volman and his Turtles companion Howard Kaylan (a.k.a. Eddie), joined Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention before embarking on a career as comedy-rock duo Flo & Eddie and continued performing for decades, right up till Kaylan's retirement in 2018.
