Lovely singer-songwriter Melanie Safka, who shot to fame with her rendition of The Rolling Stones' Ruby Tuesday and her performance at the Woodstock festival in '69, passed away at age 76.
Further highlights of her career include the songs Lay Down (with the Edwin Hawkins Singers), Leftover Wine, Beautiful People, Brand New Key, as well as her performances at The Isle Of Wight Festival in '70 and Glastonbury in '71.

British singer-songwriter and frontman of Cockney Rebel, Steve Harley, succumbed to cancer at the age of 73.
Harley is best known for his songs Sebastian (1973) and Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me) (1975).

Among the greatest guitarists of all time, D*ckey Betts, one of the founding members of the Allman Brothers Band, succumbed to cancer at age 80.
Myself being a huge fan of the Allman Brothers, and D*ckey Betts in particular, it's needless to say i was deeply saddened when i heard the news of his passing late last night.
