Writer/director Savage Steve Holland did the animation in "Better Off Dead".

After the cast and crew screening of the film, Cusack was not happy with the final cut and was furious at director Savage Steve Holland. Alas Cusack had already signed on to star in the director's follow up "One Crazy Summer" so tension was high throughout the shoot.
