Thanks to David JonesOriginally, the time machine was to be a 1969 Chevy Van, but the filmmakers used the phone booth instead, because they felt that the van time machine would be too much like "Back To The Future. Also, Bill & Ted originally picked up more historical figures when they used the van.
Thanks to John W. Evans IIIThe make-up special effects for the movie were done by David Greathouse. David got his start as a haunted house actor and make-up artist in Broadview Ohio at the "Bloodview Hts. Haunted House" as a member of one of the nations largest haunted house acting troops The Legion Of Terror. He also created the masks that the metal band Mushroomhead wears. He's still a member of the L.O.T. and still acts at the Haunted house doing phenominal make-up. He's also a screen writer.
Thanks to BelchAlex Winter (who played Bill) and Keanu Reeves (who played Ted) actually auditioned for each others parts originally.

Thanks to Micheala Loves 80sAlex Winter and Keanu Reeves, who play Bill and Ted were friends off-screen. They were found by Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson, who are the writers of Bill and Ted, when Alex and Keanu were messing around in front of them in a queue at McDonalds. They instantly felt they were right for the part.
