In 1987, this movie eventually sparked a Nintendo video game entitled "Gotcha! The Sport!" The game was made by LJN, which also made a series of paintball toys from the game and the movie but were quickly taken off the shelves for obious reasons.

In the classroom scene with the tiger and actor David Wohl as the teacher (who also played Dean Ulich in Revenge of the Nerds along with Anthony Edwards), A shot of the students in their seats shows a guy wearing a red sweatshirt with the 2 big white letters AB on it. Perhaps a tribute to Revenge of the Nerds?
