Wanna see the real life filming location used for The High School in the movie?

These scenes were actually shot at Van Nuys High, located in Van Nuys, S. California. Google Map

Van Nuys was also the school from the movie "Christine", "Rock & Roll High School" as well as "Life Goes On" and "The Wonder Years". For the TV series, they used a closed High School in Glendale instead of Van Nuys High. [Thanks to Mike Martin]

Canoga Park High School, 6850 Topanga Canyon Boulevard, Canoga Park was used for some other scenes. For example, the gym with the basketball floor (where the cheerleaders don't want to be called "spirit bunnies") is the "small gym" at Canoga Park High School. [Thanks to Michael Luciano]

The mall scenes were shot at the Sherman Oaks Galleria [Now demolished], 15303 Ventura Boulevard, Sherman Oaks, CA. The Sherman Oaks galeria has been rebuilt with a lot of business offices and eating establishments. They basically tore it down to the frame and re-used the frame that they could. [Thanks to Anastasi Scourtis and Carl Yuan]

The scene where Jennifer Leigh has her "one night stand" in the beginning of the movie and ends up pregnant is the Franklin Fields baseball dugout. This is across the wash from my old high school Birmingham High in Van Nuys (which is now called Lake Balboa). [Thanks to Matthew Malone]

Despite The DVD telling us that All American Burger (where Brad works a part-time job in the movie) is now a Starbucks, we can reveal that not only was it really an All American Burger at the time, which has since then moved, but what's there now is not a Starbucks; Starbucks is across the street. It's a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf which is comparable to Starbucks so I can see why there is confusion. They are located at 11698 San Vicente Blvd. A Pioneer Chicken restaurant, including its familiar covered wagon logo, can be seen out the window. [Thanks to "Mountain Mike" Johansen]

The school used to film the scene where Damone, Ratner's friend, the scalper who called him a wuss, promised to pay for the girl's abortion is the long closed (since 1981) Excelsior High School in Norwalk, CA. [Thanks to Carol Landi]

Excelsior High in Norwalk has been remodeled and reopened since its closing, and stands on the original site it once did. I believe it is on Alondra Blvd in Norwalk. [Thanks to Brian Doyle]

(This location was also the location where the scene in Grease where Olivia Newton John tries to make John travolta jealous by talking to a jock and John Travolta trips and falls on his face [Thanks to J. Garcia]

The scene where Brad gets upset while wearing the pirate gear, throws everything out the window, including the food, was filmed on Chatsworth Street, at the Zelza Cross Street. He's traveling east on Chatsworth, if you look at the businesses there, they are still present to this day. [Thanks to Jeri]

The scene starts eastbound on Chatsworth St at Zelzah Avenue then he stops at the red light at Chatsworth St and White Oak Avenue, then Nancy Wilson (of Heart fame) takes off and Brad realizes she's been laughing at him and he throws everything out the window. Then the camera angle changes to show behind the car and it's back at Zelzah Ave again. They must have shot both angles simultaneously. [Thanks to "Mountain Mike" Johansen]

Pizza Guy, the people who delivered Spicoli's pie are on Moorpark St. in Studio City, California.

Brad & Stacy's house is located at 24124 Welby Way in Canoga Park, CA -The pool is still there! [Thanks to Diamond Tim Pleshaw and Chuck Johnson] As of October 2020, it is for sale @ $739,999

The Mi-T Mart where Hamilton was robbed is on Santa Monica Boulevard by Brockton. It's right next to a car dealership. [Thanks to CG211 and Craig]

There's a Mi-T-Mart on the SW corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Westgate Ave. in West LA. I'm not sure if it is the same Mi-T-Mart used in the movie, but it has the same interior layout (albeit everything looks older now) and it is very close to the other shooting locations. [Thanks to Peter]

There is a Mi-T-Mart on Centinela and Beach near LAX. [Thanks to Angela]

I believe that the German restaurant where Ratner went on his date was called "Old Heidelberg" on Oxnard Blvd, just west of Woodman, in Van Nuys (Valley Glen). Sometime around 1996 or so, it was sold and re-named to "Matterhorn Chef", but the decor was virtually unchanged. Around 2006, it was sold again, and now is an Italian restaurant, named "Barone's". The decor has changed substantially. The tip-off for the location was in the stained glass, which is very distinctive. The restaurant was also a filming location for the remake of "Bad News Bears." [Thanks to Steve Martin]

The Barone's Famous Italian restaurant where Mark and Stacy have their dinner date is only 3.7 miles (6Km) from the Sherman Oaks Galleria, where Commando, Terminator 2 (both Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger), Valley Girl, and Innerspace were also filmed.. [Thanks to "Mountain Mike" Johansen]

The Fish & Chips Brad worked at, when the order for the "boys at IBM" came, was located in Panorama City at the corner of Van Nuys Blvd. and Nordoff. [Thanks to Gary Bernat] BUT, Tony Urban writes in to say: I believe the fish and chips was not on Van Nuys Blvd. and Nordhoff, but on Balboa and Parthenia. I worked at the Union 76 gas station, on the corner, when they filmed Fast times there. Just a note they filmed the ZZ Top video "Legs" at the then Dales shopping center at Van Nuys and Nordhoff.

The scene where Spicoli and Jefferson's little brother are driving to the party but crash the car starts on Van Nuys Blvd & Hamlin in Van Nuys, California and they are heading south. The filming must have jumped north from there because when Spicoli says "people on ludes should not drive" you can see out his window a Honda/Kawasaki dealership clearly marked with an address of 6650 which would put them NORTH of Hamlin St but heading south. Spicoli runs the red light at Van Nuys Blvd & Hayden, if you look at the upper right of the screen you can see the street sign for it. I lived at the Oakwood apartments at Sherman Way and the 405 freeway from 1991 to 1992 which is only 2 miles (4Km) from that intersection and had no idea I was so close to this filming location. [Thanks to "Mountain Mike" Johansen]

When Spicoli crashes the Camaro he is heading south on Van Nuys and then turns right, west, onto Vose St when he hits the construction site.

When Stacy wants to go "bowling" Brad drops her off at 1735 W Manchester Ave, Los Angeles, which according to Google maps, is now Leonardo's Restaurant. She then runs across the street to 1704 W Manchester Ave to Morningside Medical which is at the corner of Harvard Bl. When Stacy leaves, Brad picks her up at the south entrance off of Harvard. [Thanks to T Hoffarth]

When Jeff Spicoli says, "people on ludes should not drive" they drive past a Honda/Kawasaki dealership at 6650 Van Nuys Blvd which can be seen here. This Google maps link shows what it looks like today. [Thanks to "Mountain Mike" Johansen]

The location of "the point" where Stacy Hamilton loses her virginity is in fact at Encino Little League 5120 Hayvenhurst Av., Encino, 91436. Not certain which field they used. Looks like either the Pony or Colt fields?

I have been looking at all the options of "The Point" where Ron took Stacey. I have personally visited them all. I am currently typing this while sitting at the Franklin Field located at 17301 Oxnard st. In Encino CA. This is the spot I am 99 percent certain. I will post pics in the forums. I also visited the Encino Little League fields which someone suggested. Those are NOT the right location the asthetics are not even close. This dugout I am sitting in is absolutely the right spot. Field number 4. 3rd base side dugout. [Thanks to Jim Cooley]

Other locations used include: Clark Community Center, La Crescenta; Santa Monica Place, Santa Monica, CA

Can you help? Particularly with the store he worked at when he got robbed? Please Update Us
