Over The Top Locations
With the Rewind, you can enjoy the thrill of time-travel by visiting the locations where they filmed the 1987 Action / Adventure movie starring Sylvester Stallone, Robert Loggia, Susan Blakely More Cast
Under their watchful eye, the following special places were used for filming "Over The Top":
Monument Valley Arizona, Grand Canyon Arizona were used for locations in "Over the Top" [Thanks to Sheridan]
The diner arm-wrestle scene was filmed at Demetri's Coffee Shop, located at 12192 San Fernando Road in Sylmar.. Today it is the Olympic Coffee Shop.
The military academy scenes were filmed at Pomona College in Claremont, CA, about 30 miles east of Los Angeles. They added the guard shack at the entry gate, but the pillars there were part of the campus. I think Stallone was only on the set for one day, and that day they had all the streets blocked off. [Thanks to Bill]
When Lincoln Hawk and his son are driving, after they call the mother for the first time from a payphone, there's a scene where they are driving on the highway and you see powerlines in the background, and an odd shaped hill.
This is located between Shiprock, NM and Towac, CO. The two towns are about 30 miles apart. Around an area called La Plata. [Thanks to Chad]

LX is our radical new locations feature that we've been beavering away on.. For years!
Each location will have it's own page with then/now pictures, maps, StreetView, discovery story and the most detailed explanations on how the location was used. Most importantly, the locations will have a status that shows whether they are verified correct and by whom. We are working with the actual locations managers or other crew where possible. The whole thing will be very interactive and you will, of course, be able to update everything.
