BMX Bandits Locations
Locations Manager(s): Carolynne Cunningham
Under their watchful eye, the following special places were used for filming "BMX Bandits":
The water slides part are filmed at the Manly waterworks. [Thanks to The Mighty Movie Guy]
The scene with PJ and Goose on the roof of the truck and the foam fight was shot in Tania Park in Balgowlah. [Thanks to Belinda]
The end scene was filmed in Garema Circuit Kingsgrove, Sydney (just off Wirega Ave). I know this because I was one of the extra's in this scene throwing flour at the bad guys. It was filmed right next to the old roller skating ring that use to be there. [Thanks to Tony]
Manly Oval was the scene where the BMXers interupted a game of Rugby. A great leap over a beetle onto the playing surface of some 30 feet to the memory. One of the bikers intercepts the ball and races off with both teams chasing him. He passes the ball back to the players at the far try line. The referee then award a try.
The cemetery into which Judy, PJ and Goose flee is in fact Waverley Cemetery and it is in Saint Thomas Street, Bronte. [Thanks to LoverswithCassie]
The BMX track (which is now disused) that appears at the film's conclusion is in Hickeys Lane, Penrith. [Thanks to LoverswithCassie]
The mall scenes were filmed at Warringah Mall, which is situated in the corner of Condamine Street as well as Old Pittwater Road in Brookvale and can be visited online here. [Thanks to LoverswithCassie]
The flour scene was filmed in Apollo Place in Lane Cove. I was in the flour scene also and can be clearly seen in the film and the cover of the Video. Also theres a pic of me and Nicole in the scene with the location clearly visible and it being a culdersac. The street in this article (Garema Cct) is not a culdersac. [Thanks to Glenn Casey]
Can you help? Do you know any of the Manly, NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia filming locations used for BMX Bandits? Please Update Us
Locations LinksIf you know of a good link for BMX Bandits locations, please let us know.
LX is our radical new locations feature that we've been beavering away on.. For years!
Each location will have it's own page with then/now pictures, maps, StreetView, discovery story and the most detailed explanations on how the location was used. Most importantly, the locations will have a status that shows whether they are verified correct and by whom. We are working with the actual locations managers or other crew where possible. The whole thing will be very interactive and you will, of course, be able to update everything.
