Wanna see the real life filming location used for "Jake's Palace" in the movie?

These scenes were actually shot at "The Palace" Theater, located in Los Angeles, S. California. Google Map

For the race scene between Bridges and Woods - West Sunset Blvd between S Beverly Glen and Roxbury Dr. Right through Hombly Hills (pricer even than Bel Air) past Hef's mansion and a house Speilberg was building at the time. Production closed down West sunset for about 15 min at a time to shoot the footage. If you've driven the road, you'll know how good a job the unit did shooting the scene. [Thanks to MasterJMemphis]

Other scenes were shot at spectacular ruins in Mexico. Not far from Cancun you will find both islands of Isla de mujeres and a bit below, Cozumel. For the ruins you will have to go head towards the inside lands and reach the site of Chitchen Itza. [Thanks to Anthony Lange]

Yet more was also shot in Tulum, Mexico. The scene where Jeff Bridges takes a water taxi to meet her on the island where she is painting a picture. [Thanks to John Schlosser]

The football practice scenes were filmed at the old "Los Angeles Raiders" training facility in El Segundo, California. It is now a school. [Thanks to Stinkyboy]

HOWEVER, Mr.Administrator wrote in to say that Against All Odds was filmed at Juliette Low Elementary School in Anaheim, California. At one time, when the school was mothballed, it was used as a training facility for the LA Chargers football team. The school is back in business now.

The volleyball net up Sunset Blvd was still standing when I went there in '92 [Thanks to Anthony Lange]

The final scene of the movie that took place on the side of a hill in Los Angeles, was actually the site where the Getty Center was built in the Sepulveda pass off of the 405 freeway. [Thanks to Hank Hardison]

The beach house scenes were all filmed in Manhattan Beach, CA, on the Strand. I believe it was near 15th St., but can't swear to that.. [Thanks to Connie] Tom Rombouts kindly wrote in to confirm that the address of beach house in "Against All Odds" is 2012 The Strand in Manhattan Beach, which of course is near the base of 20th Street, a little south of Marine. It has been remodeled a little since the 1980's. [Thanks to Tom Rombouts]

The island in Mexico where the movie opens and where Jessie Wyler was hiding out is supposed to be Cozumel it is in fact, Isla Mujeres. Also, this movie features scenes from 2 major archeological sights in Mexico, Tulum and Chichen Itza, both Mayan and very rare to find in a single movie as the Mexican government does not normally grant permission. [Thanks to Marc]

Each location will have it's own page with then/now pictures, maps, StreetView, discovery story and the most detailed explanations on how the location was used. Most importantly, the locations will have a status that shows whether they are verified correct and by whom. We are working with the actual locations managers or other crew where possible. The whole thing will be very interactive and you will, of course, be able to update everything.
