*Stand By Me adapted from his novella The Body
*Shawshank Redemption adapted from his novella Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption
*The Shining
*Christine
*Pet Semetary
*Maximum Overdrive adapted from his short story *Trucks
*The Running Man
*Carrie

My last two were both made into TV mini-series

*The Stand
*It

I've always wished that he would make his novella The Long Walk into a movie.

Forget Annie Wilkes, I am Stephen King's number one fan!

In no particular order -

The Mist
1408
The Stand
Cujo
Misery
Dolores Claiborne
Storm of the Century
The first half of Dreamcatcher
Carrie
Salem's Lot (Original)

The worst?

The second half of Dreamcatcher
Lawnmower Man

I couldn't ever list them in order. I do prefer reading the books, I find some of the film interpretations a bit dodgy. Although since he has had more and more input in them, they are alot closer to the books.

Princess Pooh... I agree. I am a big King fan and the books are great. If I had to list movies I would say:

Children of the Corn
Silver Bullet
Chattery Teeth (From Quicksilver Highway w/Mick Garris)
The Langoliers
Apt Pupil
Pet Sematary
It
Dreamcatcher
The Black Cat (Short in Tales from The Darkside: The Movie)
Stand By Me

Of course I like them all...but these are my favs.

10. Stand By Me - Because Mighty Mouse is a cartoon. Superman's a real guy. There's no way a cartoon could beat up a real guy.
 -

9. Firestarter - Because Charlie will burn it down baby. Burn it all down.

8. Salem's Lot - Because this dude is seriously creepy...I don't care who you are!

 -

7. Creepshow - Because this one had a tone all it's own. Reminds me of Halloween night no matter when I watch it.

6. Children of the Corn - Because I live in Illinois...and there's corn everywhere! Yikes!

5. Carrie - Because of this guy!

 - [Razz]

4. Maximum Overdrive - Because of Emilio, the Green Goblin and one of the very best movie soundtracks. Ever.

 -

Bonus points as The King himself directed it.

3. The Dead Zone - Because I don't remember the last time I saw a bad movie starring Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen or Tom Skerritt...much less all three in one!

2. Christine - Because it was made by the master during a time when he could do no wrong. Man I hated that Buddy. Plus, have you ever looked at this car since and thought of anything else when you saw it? Nope.

1. The Shining - Because this isn't a Stephen King movie. It's a Stanley Kubrick and Jack Nicholson movie and when you start trying to picture scenes in your head, they come back to you pretty quick...and don't leave.

Just watched one I hadn't seen in years and hasn't been mentioned in here yet, The Dark Half. It's a good story, it just isn't done terribly well. The ending really is something else tho hehe
