i have this song stuck in my head today, i heard it recently at a store i think, and i recognized it, just don't know what it's called, or who sings it. it's a guy's voice and he sounds familiar like, the lead singer from survivor??, plus it has that soft rock sound. i have very little to go by, but here are some lyrics...

i might be wrong on some of that, but i think it's an 80s song? don't know, it sounds older. like late 80s, early 90s ballad.
i tried doing a search with those lyrics and i found nothing
does anyone know??
