In real life, DTV Host Richard Blade was a very successful and well-known disc jockey in Los Angeles during the 80's. He hosted a TV show called "The Rock 'N' Roll Evening News." He has since retired from broadcasting to teach scuba diving in the Caribbean.

The twin girls who bill themselves as "mirror image" in the dance sequence towards the end of the film, and who are dancing in top hats and tails, have danced for Janet Jackson and Tina Turner. One twin, Karen Owens, was in several Janet videos from the Rhythm Nation album as well as the accompanying tour, both women danced on Tina Turner's 'Wildest Dreams' tour.

Lee Montgomery is best-known as the ailing young boy in "Ben", the 70's thriller sequel to "Willard", both films about boys and the rats that love them. "Ben" is actually the better-known of the two, as it was the launching pad of the Michael Jackson song of the same name. The song "Ben" is a fan favorite, and was written by Michael solely for the film.

Steve Lachance, playing Ben in the movie, was also the choreographer and the dancer in the "Dance with the Wolves" ballet at the Oscar Awards several years ago. Nowadays he's a dance teacher on an Italian TV programme, named "Amici" (friends) a sort of "Fame Academy".

Helen Hunt's character was looking at a magazine with a picture of Eddie Van Halen in it. She later did two movies with Van Halen references in them. In 1991 she played a teacher in "Murder in New Hampshire: The Pamela Wojas Smart Story about a teacher who had her students murder her husband. Pamela Smart was a huge Van Halen fan and named her dog Halen. Later she did Twister with two Van Halen songs in the soundtrack.
