Mark Harmon was chosen as People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive in 1986. Similarly to Harrison Ford, Mark worked as a carpenter before he hit it big.

Shawnee Smith who played the pregnant student was in the t.v. show "Becker" as a receptionest named Linda. Shawnee can also be seen in the film's "Saw" and "Saw 2" she play's Amanda in both. Mark Harmon can also be seen in "Navy NCIS"

Director Carl Reiner has a cameo as the assigned teacher who wins the lottery and skips out of his assignment.

Actor Patrick Labyorteaux, who played Kevin the football player, appeared on the CBS series "JAG" for eight years as Lt. Bud Roberts. Today he can often be heard narrarating behind-the-scenes shows on The Travel Channel.

Courtney Thorne Smith of "Melrose Place" and "Lucas" (1986) fame is the surfer girl, Pam House, in the film.

Kelly Jo Minter was also in "A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 5". If you look carefully at 1987's "Lost Boys" movie directed by Joel Schumacher, Miss Minter works in Max's videoshop.

Mark Harmon followed successfully in the footsteps of BOTH his parents. His father, Tom Harmon, won the Heisman trophy, which is awarded to college football's best player, and his mother, Elysa Knox, was an actress. Before his acting career, Harmon was the star quarterback for UCLA!

Dean Cameron, who plays Chainsaw, plays Bass in a Los Angeles based band called The Thornbirds. He also directed the DVD for the world famous "Metal Skool" - The best 80's metal tribute band on earth, which can be seen every Monday night on Sunset Boulevard at The Keyclub, an incredible show.

Fabiana Udenio aka Anna-Maria plays a henchman in "Austin Powers".

Summer School was Kirstie Alley's first real big-screen starring role, having mostly bit parts in film (such as a Vulcan in "Star Trek II, The Wrath Of Khan"). She began playing Rebecca on "Cheers" in the fall of 1987, returning to the big screen in "Madhouse" and the "Look Who's Talking" series.
