My Science Project

AKA:

Michael Harlan (John Stockwell) has procrastinated on his science project until the last minute and his teacher (Dennis Hopper) issues him an ultimatum: turn in a science project or flunk.

So, of course, Mike scavenges a military base’s junk pile for a suitable gizmo to pass off as his project.

He finds one… and unwittingly unleashes the awesome power and energy of the unknown object. Twisted Dimensions. Time Warps. A fantastic realm where the past, present and future collide in a whirling vortex that takes the guys on a startling adventure back in time and into the future.

This is a great movie of the sci-fi genre. Very clever and funny in its presentation as well. It is similar to "The Last Starfighter" with its mix of action and comedy.

Fisher Stevens acts in his funniest role besting his performance in "Short Circuit".

This movie brings you back to the great “B” movies of time with its low budget puppet monsters and back-screen special effects!

Verdict?

Great movie night flick!! Bring the popcorn and enjoy the ride!

Strengths: Funny, good story, great "old school" SFX, Fisher Stevens.

Weaknesses? May be too cheesey for some.
