The film was originally called "Heart and Soul", but the the marketing department was afraid that "Heart and Soul" was too soft a title. It was then changed to "Getting Lucky" and then was finally released as "Mischief" ...Thankfully.
The fight at the drive-in restaurant was filmed weeks after the film wrapped.
The gas station was recreated by my family's company K&V sevice station maint, located in Columbus, Ohio. My Grandfather has pictures and an original call sheet from the film framed in our office.
If you pause the movie when Gene is pumping gas for the rich boy and look at the windsheld cleaning box, you will see a sign stating "Thank you for your patron -K&C Maint"

Deleted Scenes
When movies are made, scenes are often
left on the cutting room floor.
The scene where Jonathan breaks his arm was originally in a car accident but then looked too similar to the chicken fight scene so was reshot in LA.
There was a scene with Gene visiting Jonathan in the hospital after he breaks his arm which was also cut.
Another scene had Jonathan helping Gene out in his garage and getting oil all over him. He walks into his house leaving oil footfprints all the way.
Sometimes, there will be several versions
of a movie floating about on cable, tv or video etc. Other times, a Director may
release a special cut of the movie.
