There were actually two spaceships used in this film. One was used for the scenes in which David entered and exited the craft while it was parked on the ground. The other one was used for flight scenes. Since 1989, one of the models for Max's ship has been on display at the Disney-MGM Studios Park near Orlando, Florida. It can be seen by those who take the "Backstage Studio Tour".

Deleted Scenes
When movies are made, scenes are often
left on the cutting room floor.
Sometimes, there will be several versions
of a movie floating about on cable, tv or video etc. Other times, a Director may
release a special cut of the movie.
