During rehearsals for Mike Cost'as I CAN DO THAT number it was Michael (Mark) Blevins' idea to have Chuck McGowan pull someone from the link to join in his routine.
Blevins hoped they would pick him since it was his idea - but choreographer Jeffrey Hornaday took Blevins' idea but choose dancer Gregg Burge for the bit. Sorry, Blev!
During preproduction, people from the movie came to "A Chorus Line" on Broadway with camaras with the intent on taking pictures of the final costumes. They offered designer, Theoni Aldredge full on screen credit, but she refused it, as a loyalty to the original show.
Michael Bennett who created "A Chorus Line", was originally set to direct the movie, but backed out because he didn't like the way he was being treated.
When movies are made, scenes are often
left on the cutting room floor.

Yes, two scenes cut from the film - a scene with Vicki (Sheila) Fredricks smoking downstairs with Allyson (Cassie) Reed.
And another short dialogue scene with Cameron (Paul) English and Michael (Mark) Blevins during the opening.
Sometimes, there will be several versions
of a movie floating about on cable, tv or video etc. Other times, a Director may
release a special cut of the movie.
