Alternate Versions

***SPOILER*** There was an alternate ending. After Muffy reveals the prank, everyone leaves the house. Rob, Kit, Nikki, and Chaz sneak back in to play a final prank on Muffy.

There they find Skip who has gone mad and wants to kill Muffy over the inheritance. Rob jumps in, killing Skip and saving Muffy.

This ending was more in line with the novel, and is rumored to have been filmed, yet was scrapped after a decision to go with a more upbeat ending. There are supposed shots of this alternate ending on the DVD cover, further fueling speculation.
