AFD appears to be loosely based on Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None" (Also known as "Ten Little Indians"). In the book and original movie, the visitors to the island are actually killed and there isn't a twin.

There are two references to 'Friday the 13th: Part 2' in which Amy Steel starred in as Ginny: A cat scares Skip before he "dies", which happens to Alice in ‘Friday the 13th: Part 2’ and Arch gets hung upside down in a rope trap, just like Scott in ‘Friday the 13th: Part 2’.
