The lead role was originally offered to John Travolta, but pulled out 2 weeks before production started. Allegedly Armani had even tailor made suits for his character which Travolta kept despite not doing the Film. He then took the lead part in "Urban Cowboy" instead.

He later would pass on "An Officer and A Gentleman" as well which was specifically developed for him.

Christopher Reeve was also rumored to have passed on this movie.
