Halloween II Locations

Halloween II Filming Locations:
The Halloween houses used in the first movie and parts of the second are on Orange Grove avenue just north of Sunset Blvd. If you could see how close they are to a major intersection in busy West Hollywood, you would have renewed respect for John Carpenter being able to pull off this little bit of "Hollywood magic" [Thanks to Tom]
One of the buildings on the Woodley Ave side of the Veteran's Affairs Sepulveda Care Center at 16111 Plummer St, Los Angeles was used for the exterior of the of Haddonfield Memorial Hospital. [Thanks to John]
Morningside Hospital in Inglewood, California was also used.
The opening scenes of Halloween take place on Meridian St, north of Mission Ave. Much of it remains the same today. The house used for the opening scene (white two story house where you are looking through the mask of the killer) was half a block up on the west side of Meridian. This house now sits on the Northeast corner or Meridian & Mission and is now used as a museum/chamber of Commerce I believe. Nonetheless, it is still there, painted white and blue. On the northwest corner of the same streets you will find a brick building with awnings. There was a scene where some girls pulled up to talk to a deputy ( I believe he was one of the girls dads.) South of here by a couple miles in the nearby town of Alhambra is Garfield Elementary School, on the corner of McLean and Second. On the northwest corner of this school are some classrooms behind a chain link fence. Looking south from McLean you see the classroom Jamie Lee Curtis' character was sitting in when she first saw the masked killer outside the window. The school still looks relatively the same with little changes. [Thanks to Pete]

Locations LinksIf you know of a good link for Halloween II locations, please let us know.
LX is our radical new locations feature that we've been beavering away on.. For years!
Each location will have it's own page with then/now pictures, maps, StreetView, discovery story and the most detailed explanations on how the location was used. Most importantly, the locations will have a status that shows whether they are verified correct and by whom. We are working with the actual locations managers or other crew where possible. The whole thing will be very interactive and you will, of course, be able to update everything.
