When Freddy Benson rolls into town in his young female companion's Ferrari with Lawrence and the French police chief watching, the location used is is a small town just outside Nice called Villefranche. There are other scenes in the film which show Villefranche too. Villefranche is about 5kms east of Nice and about 12kms west of Monaco. [Thanks to JulieMB]
The railway station used at the beginning of the film is Villefranche and the scene where Steve Martin is 'shopping' while Anton Rogers looks on with Mrs Larson is outside the Casino in Beaulieau. They are all fabulous places to visit, and all within a short distance to each other. [Thanks to Raymond & Guy Singleton]
The Casino is in Beaulieu at the La Rotunde 100m from the genuine Casino.
The hotel used by Janice Colgate is the Grand Hotel Cap Ferret, situated at the end of the peninsula. [Thanks to Guy Singleton]Can you help?
