The scene where Jimmy uses the flute to open the warp cuts to his avatar on the video game screen, it shows his points rising quickly because of it. In reality, using the warp flute in the game earns you no points at all.

When Jimmy is given his number as they walk into the competition hall, it's 357. In another scene as he walks down the aisle to play, the number on his back can clearly be seen to be 427. When he wins the preliminaries, it's back to 357 again.

In the scene where Jimmy is playing Ninja Gaiden with Corey and Haley watching, Haley remarks that it's Jimmy's "second time through and he hasn't even taken a hit yet!" However, if you look closely at Jimmy's health meter, it clearly shows that he HAS taken a hit.

Having seen the movie 62 times the biggest mistake I noticed is when they're driving through Reno in the back of the pick-up, there is a clock visible in the background that keeps changing times, from 12:07 I believe to 11:42 and then back 12:08.

Having seen this movie enough to know it pretty much line for line now, and being a former video game junkie that I was.. I've taken notice to quite a few goofs in this film. But a big one that's always urked me was the ending...

The final video game face off battle is supposed to be determined by overall scoring in the Super Mario Bros. 3 game. If you watch it and know the game well enough, you'll know there's no way Jimmy could have won based on his score.

For one thing, he supposedly racked up a huge amount of points for finding the magic flute... In reality, you get no points for that. And somehow getting the third stars at the end of the level gave him a major boost in points too, (enough to win), when all that really did in reality is give you 5 extra lives...

So if you take all this into account, Jimmy should NOT have won the final round battle.

When Corey's father & brother pick up the truck at the junk yard, the father is playing Zelda II. The game is correct, but the music is not. The music is the overworld music when you walk around in Zelda II, not when playing through stages.

When Christian Slater unplugs the Nintendo, they wrap everything up and leave, but look closely and you'll notice they left behind the R/F switch for the Nintendo

The cover of the movie is wrong. Corey is on the cover wearing the Power Glove on his left hand, when it should be on his right. (considering Lucas wore it on his right, and the box clearly displays a right hand.)

After winning the competition at Universal Studios, the family is seen driving home. Since "home" is Utah (or Reno for Hailey) they should be heading north from Burbank, CA, where Universal Studios is located. Instead they apparently drive east, since that is where the dinosaurs are located in the last scene of the movie (Cabazon, CA).

Bogus Blunders

Sometimes an apparent goof is not a real mistake

But, nothing bogus that we know yet for "The Wizard".
