Gladiator is a 1992 sport film, directed by Rowdy Herrington,
and starring Cuba Gooding, Jr., James Marshall, Brian Dennehy, and Robert Loggia.
The film tells the story of two teenagers trapped in the world of illegal underground boxing.
One is fighting to pay off gambling debts accumulated by his father.
The second is fighting for the money to get out of the ghetto.
While being exploited by a boxing promoter, the two teens become friends.
The climax pits the two friends in the ring against each other. (Wikipedia)

I bought Gladiator dvd some time ago and watched it yesterday.
It´s a very good teen sport action drama directed by Rowdy Herrington (Jack´s Back, Road House)
The movie was written by Djordje Milicevic (Runaway Train) and Robert Mark Kamen (Taps, Karate Kid)

I´ve liked James Marshall since the Twin Peaks and he´s great in this movie.
The rest of the cast also rock!
Cuba Gooding Jr, Robert Loggia, T.E. Russell, Jon Seda, Ossie Davis and Cara Buono all did a good job.
Brian Dennehy is awesome as the sleazy Jimmy Horn.

This film has a great soundtrack.
It starts nicely with the Seal/Adamski tune "Killer"
and later you can hear Warrant, Cheap Trick, LL Cool J and 3rd Bass tunes.
Always reliable Brad Fiedel (Terminator, Fright Night) takes care of the stuff in between.

Some cool high school scenes, a montage, south side Chicago street scenes
and lots of great, at times even brutal fights.

The streets made him a fighter.
The underworld made him a gladiator.
The only rule: Win or Die.

Any movie with that written on the poster is a must see. I'm in!
