Oh it was fun to watch this movie again!
The Borrower is a great horror comedy directed by John McNaughton (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Wild Things)
This flick has a serious 80s hangover.

"Alien serial killer is sent to Earth to live among humans as a form of penalty.
The alien's penalty includes that his body is genetically transformed to look like a human's,
but since this transformation is not perfect, after a while his body starts to revert back to its original form and his head explodes,
prompting him to "borrow" a new head from the next person happening to be present at the time -by squeezing it off
with a crab-like claw and placing it on its own neck.
Female cop Pierce and her partner try to make sense of the ongoing killing spree,
which stands out through the fact that all victims are missing their heads,
slowly coming to the conclusion that they are facing a rather unearthly killer" (Wikipedia)

The cast is solid.
Rae Dawn Chong and Don Gordon are the cops.
co-stars include Antonio Fargas, Tom Towles and Neil Giuntoli.
It was also nice to see Mädchen Amick in a small role.

The synth score/soundtrack is very good.
Once again the Kevin Yagher team did the cool sfx.

I love the late night Chicago city scenes
and there´s a funny scene including a couple watching The Garbage Pail Kids Movie.

If you like Re-Animator or Killer Klowns from Outer Space,
you might wanna see The Borrower.
