Last night I couldnt sleep and my mind started to wander as it often does on nights when one cant sleep....and I thought about a show I used to watch in the 90s.....

Does anyone remember BOBBYS WORLD? It was a cartoon about a little kid named Bobby who was voiced by a comedian (I think it was Howie Mandell?)

I used to watch this show all the time and would love to see it again. I wonder if its on DVD?

Sure, I remember Bobby's World. I'm thinking it was on Fox. I haven't heard of it being on DVD, though.

I remember it, yes, but I was never really that much of a fan of it to be honest. It may or may not be on DVD at the moment, although I sort of remember seeing it on shelves somewhere.

From what i've found out by looking around online certain episdoes ARE on DVD ...no full on box set though.

There are people on IMDB who say they are going to start making new epsiodes. I sure wasnt expecting to hear that!

The strange thing about me and this show was I was already in my 20s when I watched it! It must have been one of those shows that was cute enough for kids but "smart" enough for grown ups.

I am going to see if NETFLIX has it so I can see it again.

OMG, I used to watch that show all the time when I was younger. If it's on DVD, I am definitely getting it. [Smile]

Well it came last night- and its funny- as little as I remembered about this show the second the theme song started I started having flashbacks and rememebring stuff: Like his brother (Derek) , his sister (Kelly - okay, I admit- the second they showed her I couldnt remember her name like I did with "Derek"- but I did remember the way she talked like a valley girl "Oh- Bo-bbbbby"), the way the mother talked "Oh, gosh gee, dontcha know", the Uncle - who always sounded like John Candy to me (Is it????) calling Bobby "Bobbo" and wearing that hideous yellow and red shirt!

It felt good watching it again after all these years. My daughter enjoyed it too. Did I love it as much as I thought I would? No. But I still got a kick out of seeing it again so many years later. Definetly worth the rental fee!
