This is another '90s series that aired on FOX that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was about this scientis, played by Carl Lumbly, who was shot during some riots or something in L.A. His spine was damaged and now he is paralized from the waist down and is wheel-chair bound. But you can't keep a good man down! He uses his resources to construct a black spandex suit and special helmet and belt that stimulates his spine, lets him walk and gives him super-human strenght. Enter--The M.A.N.T.I.S. (I forget what the acronym stood for, but with the helmet he sort of looks like a praying mantis) He has an underground cave that leads out to the ocean and bay around the city and he has this car/hovercraft/submarin thingy that he flies around in. I thought that it was just wickedly cool and I wish they would put it on DVD. I think it only lasted about a season and a half.
