I figured this would be the most appropriate forum for this. At any rate, just a note that the first set of classic era Sesame episodes from the show's first 5 years hits stores October 24th. According to the press release it'll contain 5 full episodes (the season premieres?)plus bonus sketches. Given the lack of classic era Sesame available currently, hopefully this'll be the start of good things to oome (and there probably won't be rights issues with Kermit here, since Sesame Workshop already has permission to use vintage Kermit sketches whenever they wish).

"Sunny days, sweepin' the clouds away..." I loved Sesame Street as a kid. Wonder how much the set will cost?

Amazon's pre-selling it for about $30. It'll also include the original pilot, although currently there's a little confusion which one this is, since they shot about 5 pilots before they settled on the format we know and love--or if it's even the pitch reel where numerous Muppets, including Kermit and Rowlf (whose rights I'm a little less sure of since situations with his presence haven't really been addressed yet) argue over what to call the show (including the succinct "Hey Stupid").

An update here, it contains, for the benefits of any who wants it, the first 5 season premiers (1969-1973), all mostly intact with only a minor edit here or there, the pitch reel, which is completely intact and means there probably will be little problem should they release a later set with Baker Sketch #9, which Rowlf appears in, and about 54 bonus sketches including such fan favorites as "Being Green," Alligator King, Ladybugs' Picnic, Paul Benedict's "Mad Painter," and the original Rubber Duckie.
