I’ve recently started collecting coins and I’m trying to learn more about the history behind them – like mint dates, designs, background stories, etc. Some sites just list technical stuff, but I’m more into context. Any good places where I can really dig into what the coins meant or where they came from?

Totally get what you mean. I like knowing the story behind the coin too, not just the year or metal. One place that’s helped me a lot is Coinstrail. It’s not just prices and auctions – they also include country catalogs and historical context for many coins. I was checking a Russian coin once, and it had all the background info on the era, mint type, even political stuff tied to it. Makes collecting way more interesting.

Oh, that’s exactly the kind of info I’ve been missing. Just looked up one of mine and it had a full breakdown. Didn’t expect that from a pricing tool, honestly. Appreciate the tip!
