I’ve got a Saiga 7.62x39 and wanted a good, clean way to mount a red dot without spending a fortune or adding bulk. Went with the Ultimak https://4shooters.com/manufacturer/ultimak and I’ve been really happy with the results. The install was straight-up easy. No drilling, no crazy mods, just tighten it on and it’s good to go. Took it to the range the same weekend, sighted it in, and the thing stayed dialed in perfectly even after a few hundred rounds. It sits low, which is great for cheek weld and quick aiming, and I can still see my iron sights under the dot. That’s exactly what I was looking for — minimal setup, maximum usability. Cleaning the rifle is still simple because the mount doesn’t get in the way at all. I’ve had mine on for about 6 months now and it hasn’t loosened or moved a millimeter. If you’re running an AK variant like a Saiga and want a dependable optic mount, I’d say ultimak is definitely worth it. Not flashy, not complicated, just functional and solid as hell.
