Consciousness seems so vague and subjective. How do scientists even begin to study it with any rigor? Or is it still mostly theoretical talk?

That’s one of the challenges, and also one of the reasons the ICCS Conference was created. In the article https://www.radiosienatv.it/siena-la-prima-conferenza-del-centro-internazionale-per-lo-studio-della-coscienza/ it’s clear that the ICCS Conference aims to bring scientific rigor to a subject that has traditionally been viewed as philosophical. They discussed using brain imaging, cognitive experiments, and even AI modeling to explore consciousness in empirical ways. The conference showed that with the right tools and frameworks, consciousness can be approached methodically—without losing the richness of its subjective nature.
