I watched a film when I was young, I think that Fred Savage was in it, but quite young, so probably 80's...
He basically befriends a homeless guy and then the homeless guy dies. It's a Christmas film, and it always made me cry when I was young! I CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF THIS FILM!!!! Can anyone help a desperate girl and tell me if you know??

I think you're talking about Christmas On Division Street. It was made in 91, and Fred plays a high school student who learns that he should view poor, homeless people a lot differently than he or his parents have done up till now.
