Is anyone else a fan of this 80's movie? It stars Lorraine Braco, Peter Dobson and Jessica Steen. I bought the VHS about 10 years ago and would love to find it on DVD but don't think it's available. I've looked on ebay, with no luck...

Anyway, I broke out the tape and watched it this morning as I was getting ready for work!

great movie [Smile]

there is no dvd and honestly, i would be shocked if they would ever release it.

i love the scene with the tryouts, ...people singing to madonna's like a virgin, or actually it was someone playing the piano with a drum machine, right?
anyway, it still cracks me up, hearing those brooklyn accents, singing.

"liiike a voigin...touched for the vewy foist tiiiime." [Big Grin]

'birthday suit' is a great song [Wink]

Yessssssss!! That scene was hilarious! And what about those outfits-complete 80's...big hair, spandex, big shirts, silk shirts on the guys.

I love the "love theme song", Romance, by Teri Nunn & Paul Carrack. And Birthday suit is great too!

It has been so long since I watched it that I didn't even realize that a young Cuba Gooding Jr. played in it as well...

"And THAT'S how you pay...the rent!" Patti Labelle really belted that song out, didn't she?

Yeah, Cuba (I think his characters name was Stanley) was supposed to do the part in the musical that Peter Dobson's character ended up doing because Cuba was running down the hallway yelling at Hannah that someone stole his costume and someone opens a classroom door and knocks him out on accident. I was so surprised that he was in this movie!

Devolution here,

I was in Charge of Sing at the high school I work at in Staten Island for 8 years. The movie isn't that different from the production, especially in Brooklyn, but there are clips of in on Youtube, I believe there is also a Sing Documentary that you can hear me talking about the show in '05. That's also on Youtube.
