I don't know what made me think about this, but who thinks that Hillary Swank might be the next Jodie Foster. They both seem so articulate and take on challenging roles that obviously win them awards. Other than the fact that Hillary has a successful marriage and Foster has two children with whom we have no idea who the fathers are, are they really that different?
I would like to see Hillary get into some producing and possiblly direcing like Foster did. I would be interested to see what kind of vision she can put up there on screen. These two ladies are both so versatile, they always seem to choose roles that have them having southern accents and terrible grammer. It seems to work for them.

I favor Hilary Swank more. Miss Foster is very inconsistent. Has she got anything in the works as far as movies go, or she she on hiatus? Hilary Swank's southern accent in Million Dollar Baby was vvvvvvery convincing. She sounds like someone who could live a few houses down from me. True, they both seem to pick roles which require terrible grammar and overblown Southern accents.

I would have to say Jodie - yet only in the fact that she has starred in more movies and I can judge her talent somewhat better.

There is this certain quality about Jodie that I become intrigued by, and I can't help but like her presence and strength in a movie with the character she chooses. That's not without saying though, that I think Hilary Swank is proving herself to be a very talented actress. She can only get better with the more roles that she plays. Both 'Boys Don't Cry' and 'Million Dollar Baby' prove that Hilary is definately one for the up-and-coming future, and that she can shine working alongside the big guys - not forgetting with Pacino in 'Insomnia' - even if it was a very small part.

I would like to see more of both of them, though. Yes, they can make a poor movie from time-to-time, but so can everybody.
