Anybody remember these shoes? We always called them BKs. They were popular for awhile in the 80s. I always wore my Chuck Taylors whether they were in style or not. I still wear em. Anyway, anybody remember any other shoes that were popular then?

No problem Rose. I used to do that to my mom all the time when I was a kid. I'd always ask for something, begging her until she bought it for me. After I got it, I'd rarely wear it or play with it again, depending on what it was. [Smile]

Me and my friend had our own hip hop crew and I remember we so desperately wanted a pair of BKs to finish of our style [Smile] . In the end we both ordered a pair from a catolouge....I think we paid about 60 quid for a 30 pound pair of trainers [Mad]

I had forgot all about BKs though....thanks for the memories [Smile]

I think I owned like 2 pairs of bk's. I also owned a pair of Troops, Diadora's, Pumas, Pro Wings, LA Gears, Vans (I still own a pair of modern Vans by the way).

Dr. Martens...
I realize they are still around with great shoes, but in the 80 Dr. Martens was synonymous with those really heavy, black boots you just had to have if you were a Depeche Mode fan... [Smile]

I am in the process of ordering a new pair of Dr Martens. I think I am after the 20 eye boots but don't know if I can get away with that. My kids thought they were interesting boots but lots bigger than my army infantry boots... [Confused]

I own a zillion pairs of Dr Martens! Those have always been my favorite shoes! It's funny how so many people forgot about BK's. I remember when I had to have a pair. I don't think they lasted all that long.

Shoes like Pumas and Vans and of course Dr Martens have proven they can stand the test of time. I still wear all these brands too!

Any other 80s brand you remember?

What about those white Jennifer-Grey-Dirty-Dancing-Shoes? KEDS, or something?
Are they still around in the US?

Haha! Keds! Yeah they still have those. I don't know anybody who'd wear em but they still exist. I remember having a really cool pair of red and blue suede Spiderman shoes in 82. I don't remember who they were made by, but they were really cool. In fact I still have them sitting in my closet.

Now days kid shoes are so cheap looking. My Spidey shoes were awesome! I wish I had a pair just like them that could fit me now! I'd wear em everyday! [Big Grin]

Had some BK's. There were Troops, the slip on Vans, Vision Street Wear, RUN DMC Adidas with the fat laces, K-Swiss, Sperry Topsiders, Fila. All I can think of right now. Still wear Vans and the old school Adidas.

I love the old school Adidas Superstar shell toes. Those are my favorite shoe along with the Nike Cortes's. They are both old school and make me think I'm in Beat Street or Breakin. [Cool]
