There was a guy that did the voice-overs for many '80's movie trailers, as well as some TV series - the '80's "Twilight Zone" comes to mind. This dude's voice was extremely distinctive, but I have no idea what his name was. I can't remember if he continued to do these voice-overs for '90's films, but I'm sure that his voice-work didn't last into the 200X's.
