I just saw this on Yahoo. Being a huge Chicago Bears fan I was also a fan of the Fridge. Hope everything goes well for him!

AIKEN, S.C. (AP)—Former Chicago Bears defensive lineman William “The Refrigerator” Perry remains hospitalized in South Carolina.

Aiken Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Melissa Summer said Wednesday that Perry is in serious condition. The 46-year-old Perry has been hospitalized to deal with complications from Guillain-Barre (gee-LAN’ bah-RAY’) Syndrome, a chronic inflammation disorder of the peripheral nerves.

Perry’s nephew, Purnell Perry, said Tuesday that his uncle was admitted more than a week ago but was expected to recover. A man who answered the phone Wednesday at Purnell Perry’s home in Aiken said he couldn’t comment on the football player’s hospitalization.

The 300-pound plus defensive tackle played for the Bears’ 1985 Super Bowl team, and helped lead Clemson to the 1981 national championship.

I'm hoping the big guy's going to recover. Couldn't deal with another similar untimely death like what happened to the late, great Walter Payton. Always loved that 85 Super Bowl team. Here's hoping Jay Cutler can get the Bears back to the dance again.

John Banaszak has been hospitalized too, with multiple aneurisms. He is expected to make a full recovery.http://kdka.com/sports/John.Banaszak.hospitalized.2.992468.html He was a former "Steel Curtain" player. Seems like alot of those guys from the 70's are either in poor health or passing away, because a lot of them took steroids without knowledge of their effects on your body.

I hope the Fridge gets better too.

I know--it's hard to tell how many players took them. Hope Banaszak gets better too.

One of the first internationally recognised NFL players, even to those who don't follow the sport. An 80s icon , even an honorary member of GI Joe if memory serves.

Glad both these players are expected to make a full recovery.
