Duran Duran vs. Belinda Carlisle, both these songs I have fond memories of. But I'm going for the DD song, because I think it's one the best things they ever did, in fact their debut album was never equaled IMO. Although there were great songs on Rio, I love the darker post-punk sound on the first one. In fact I wish they went more in a darker Cure direction instead of the funk/R&B/Nile Rodgers hodgepodge of the mid-late 80's. Simon LeBon could have done a cool Clockwork orange thing for some videos. Put a boiler hat, white boiler suit and he would have been a dead ringer.

I agree that the Duran Duran song is far superior in my opinion. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened to them if they continued in the same vein as their first album.

Planet Earth, without a doubt. That is a great song. It also was their first single wasn't it?

However, my favorite stays New Religion from the Rio album.

Duran Duran, so nice they named it twice.

A great song, and a great band.

Oh tough one.........

Duran by a nose. Again, not their best one, but then it ain't Belinda's high-point either.
