Someone had started a topic once about songs that you use to love but now can't stand...or something like that...well this song I never liked then...and I still don't like it...but it is completely nostalgic as soon as I hear it.

I heard it on the radio the other day...and there is something about it that just rubs me the wrong way.

I used to LOVE this song, but now it's played on every retro lunch on every pop station in my area. Im SO sick of it now, although I do still like the longer version when they start singing The Supremes song "Where Did Our Love Go".

I'm with ISIS on this one. Sorry, but I hated the song, even during the 80's!

I know that some people on this board can't stand cover versions of 80's songs, but this is one example that I *would* like to hear someone else remake this song, as long as it sounds completely different from Soft Cell's version!

I still like this song, but not as much as in the 80's. Overplayed.

I actually saw a video once of an indie punk group covering it. It was OK, but it still is so overplayed. Actually I would love to hear the original Tainted Love done in the 60's by some soul group?? It was Soft Cell who did a cover of it. Actually the entire album Soft Cell album Non-stop erotic cabaret is a classic. Tainted Love is just one of many good songs on it. Memorabilia is a freakish dance song.

In fact, Soft Cell´s version already IS a cover version (of a "Northern Soul" song).
Manson´s version is OK, but they´ve already done two many covers for my taste.
You might want to try Coils Tainted Love: http://www.brainwashed.com/coil/
It´s much slower and darker.

I liked Marilyn Manson's version of it better. Everytime I hear the original, I picture Dan Aykroyd in Coneheads:

Sometimes I feel I've got to AHHH aHHHH get away. LOL...
