oh snap.

although i love AF, they really have nosedived after Liberty and Justice For... And even the album Cause For Alarm was written by Pete Steele. but everything from United Blood to the live at cb's album is untouchable.

I have Victim in Pain on cassette, why is that not re-issued? I even heard Vinnie doesn't even plug in his guitar anymore or something.

i also believe that vinny stigma is in his 60's, or dam close to them so that wouldn't surprise me though i haven't seen them live in years.

Yeah, I heard Vinnie was older, he used to hang out with Sid Vicious in the late 70's. He's an interesting guy, not your typical hardcore dude, nice interview of him on American Hardcore.

Also:

HR/Dr. Know
Jack Grisham/Ron Emory
Dexter Holland/Noodles
Springa/Al Barile
Jim Morrison/Robbie Krieger
Keith Morris/Greg Hetson

Priceless footage. Didn't know all that AF stuff was on there.

I got Bad Brains live at CBGB's 1982 on DVD this year, nothing better than to see them in their prime.

Another good one was Doug Holland of Cromags/Kraut, he could really shred. Too bad John Joseph and Harley Flanagan are estranged.

that Bad Brains dvd is so awesome. i wish i was old enough to have been there.

just talking about kraut yesterday on another messageboard and doug is trying to get the gang back together so i read. i'd love to see a kraut reunion. my best friend saw them at this local college in 1982. he said it was one of his favorite shows.

Didn't a member of Kraut die in bathtub accident or something years ago? Would love to see a reunion though, All Twisted is such a good HC song. I saw Bad Brains in the 90's, it was a sham, one of the worst shows I have seen. They only played for 40 minutes and HR was an a#%hole. The best reunion concerts I saw were the Murphy's Law/Gorilla Biscuits show last year. I even saw Civ solo in the 90's. I even recall talking a bit to Sick of it All at the Van's Warped Tour years ago, I still have the stuff they signed for me. NY hardcore is just a different beast compared to the other scenes.

NYHC was my lifesblood in the 80's and made me the person i am today. my best friend was a boots and braces skin and his best friend at the time, who he met at that kraut show i spoke about, lived in brooklyn and hung out with all the guys from warzone, ydl, cro mags, murphy's law, etc...

i don't know about a kraut member dying but it's possible. i don't know much about what happened to the members besides doug.

i saw bad brains a few times, the best time being in '89 at the rock hotel, or the ritz, in nyc, i forget which. they played with 24-7 spyz. that show was insane. HR was in all his glory. but HR is done now. i feel bad for the other members of the band because musically they sound amazing, but HR can't get his act together anymore. his brain is fried. he now basically just stands there and talks. he's also been known to wear a space man's helmet while singing or talking to a bird cage during their set. it's really kind of sad now.

i saw most of the save cb's shows online. they were all amazing. i've also recently seen underdog and gorilla biscuits. i'm for any 80's hardcore reunion. and i don't know if the show happened yet, but token entry is having a reunion show playing with the bouncing souls. i have to find out when this is.

HR cost that band a lot with his erratic behaviour over the years. They should have been the greatest crossover band of all time, they had the best musicians in hardcore bar none. They should have been a household name with Slayer or Metallica sales figures. But at least you saw them in 89 when they had Quickness out and were still the outfit of legend. The group I saw was a farce. I saw too that Jessie Malin/D Generation was in a NY hardcore band called Heart Attack, and even the Beastie Boys had their start in that scene.

I know of some Jersey hardcore stuff, were you involved in all that Lifetime/Thursday scene of the 90's?

Good call on Kiedis/Frusciante Jack. Did you ever see the interview somebody did with Frusciante back when he was strung out for years? Sad, sad. Here's a clip of it. He looks literally on the verge of death. He doesn't even look like the same person......
