"Savage Streets" was originally to be directed by Tom DeSimone but after only a few days filming, he quit. This put the movie in limbo and some cast members left to pursue other assignments (like Debra Blee, whose character literally disappears in the second half of the film). Danny Steinmann was eventually hired to direct and finished the film.

There was a scene in the Scars lair. Jake and Fargo are playing Chess while having a philosophical conversation. Red of course is snorting the biggest lines you've ever seen.

Savage Streets was changed and cut for the Australian release. The beginning was changed and most importantly, the end when Brenda disposes of Jake, she leaves the building watching the flames as the police pull up. However, in the Australian release there is a voice over telling you what happened to Brenda.
