Wanna see the real life filming location used for Stacey Sutton's House in the movie?

These scenes were actually shot at Dunsmuir House, located in Oakland, N. California. Google Map

The City and County of San Francisco were used extensively including Fisherman's Wharf; Japantown; San Francisco City Hall; Market Street; Potrero Hill; Third Street Bridge; Financial District and, of course, The Golden Gate Bridge.

The large house that the whiny bond girl lived in was the Dunsmuir mansion in Oakland, CA. -Also used for the 80s horror classic "Phantasm"

San Andreas Lake in Millbrae, San Mateo County was used for Zorin's Mine

The Oil-tanker docks near the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge in Richmond, Contra Costa County were also used.

The fire truck chase took place from Market St. to Left O Doul Drawbridge on Third St.

Other locations include snow-covered mountains of Iceland familiar landmarks of Paris and the picturesque French Château Chantilly.

The interior and exterior of the caves where Mayday was riding out on the bomb, were filmed at Amberley Chalk Pits Museum in Amberley, Arundel, West Sussex in the UK. [Thanks to Graham Veal]

LX Preview

LX is our radical new locations feature that we've been beavering away on.. For years!

Each location will have it's own page with then/now pictures, maps, StreetView, discovery story and the most detailed explanations on how the location was used. Most importantly, the locations will have a status that shows whether they are verified correct and by whom. We are working with the actual locations managers or other crew where possible. The whole thing will be very interactive and you will, of course, be able to update everything.
