I am currently stationed at Barksdale AFB, Bossier City LA. When I arrived here I was told by fellow airman part of the picture was filmed at the "flag lake" region on the bases East reservation.
I hav not been able to verify that but the railroad tressel scene looks very much like the tressel at the north end of red chute bayou that feeds into the lake. [Thanks to Greg Oliver]

Southern Comfort Filming Locations:
