Repo Man Filming Locations:

Have you ever noticed how much of the action takes place inside one very small area? (6th St bridge?). It's almost like the filmakers had a permit to film in that area and made the most of it!!

The scene where Lite shoots in to the house was filmed in San Pedro.

If you look at the map in the beginning montage, the setting is in New Mexico, not LA. [Thanks to Mark Sweeny]

4th street bridge over Sante Fe Ave: - This was the scene where Otto was chasing the Malibu on foot. He leans over the side of the bridge to puke, and suddenly the Malibu appears from under the bridge. This area is where Mateo St. turns into Sante Fe Ave. under the 4th St. bridge. The warehouse that is briefly shown before Otto runs down the bridge's concrete staircase is the old Maxwell House Coffee building (circa 1924). It is still there to this day.

The big question is where was the Repo Yard location? I know it is somewhere between Wall St. & Crocker St. (west to east) and 4th St. & 8th St. (north to south). There has been so much developement in the Fashion District since the 80's that the area looks more like a Tijuana market than an industrial area as it used to be. Can anyone help me on where the repo yard was located? [Thanks to Brian Mckinley]

The liquor store where the Mexican standoff happened is now called Lindley Liquor, at 7137 Lindley Ave. in Reseda.

Trent Reeve is going on a quest to find all the LA locations in late January '09. See this link for more details.

All the canal scenes were filmed at the L.A. river. The same place as many movies such as "Grease" and that one N.W.A. music video. The opening credits say Santa Fe, NM. but the trees in the desert look like Yucca trees which as far as I know only grow in the Mojave desert, Ca. [Thanks to John Doe]

LX Preview

LX is our radical new locations feature that we've been beavering away on.. For years!

Each location will have it's own page with then/now pictures, maps, StreetView, discovery story and the most detailed explanations on how the location was used. Most importantly, the locations will have a status that shows whether they are verified correct and by whom. We are working with the actual locations managers or other crew where possible. The whole thing will be very interactive and you will, of course, be able to update everything.
