Wanna see the real life filming location used for Milton High School in the movie?

These scenes were actually shot at Milby High School, located in Houston, Texas. Google Map

The Bellaire Cardinal marching band were seen in the background shots at Milby High School. [Thanks to Sondee]

The setting is Kingwood, Texas, a suburb of Houston. You can tell this not only by the Houston Police Cars, but the streets mentioned for speed traps are in Kingwood. Also, Kingwood is an affluent part of Houston, hence the large houses. [Thanks to Patrick]

The scene where the Houston Metro bus pulls up to the bus stop in the neighborhood was filmed in Idylwood off of Wayside and Lawndale where I grew up. Incidentally, I went to Milby High School as well although the film was filmed one year before I entered 9th grade. My cousin was lucky enough to attend while the film was being made. [Thanks to moviebuff92]

The chase scene towards the end of the movie is the famous Richmond Strip between Tanglewilde and Jeanetta in South West Houston. You can see the Richmond Square Shopping Center that used to have a Safeway store and Flyers Hamburgers which is no longer opened but the building remains. [Thanks to Jay Quintero]

The scene where the two biker cops chase Modoc's van is at "Mecom Fountain" and Montrose (just behind the Art Museum, Science Museum and Hermann Park). The name comes from the family of John W. Mecom, Sr., a renowned Houston oilman. The fountain is located at the intersection of South Main Street and Montrose Boulevard, and it marks the main entrance to Hermann Park. [Thanks to Cliff]

The store where Jeremy works is on Sheperd between San Felipe and Westheimer - it is now a pet store called "Petco".

The "hang out" location used in the "My Best Friend is a Vampire" movie is a little off. When the movie was filmed Tila's was located on Westheimer just east of Montrose Blvd. Tila's closed for several years and later reopened on Shepherd. The actual location sat vacant and was later remodeled. You can still recognize parts of the exterior and the interior if you have a good imagination. It is called Katz Deli and is open 24 hours. (How appropriate.) [Thanks to Greg]

Jeremy's best friend's house is located near Rice University in Southhampton neighborhood on "South Blvd."

The hangout restaurant "Tilas" is actually still there and is on Sheperd between West Gray and Memorial.

The live music venue where Jeremy and his best friend go to pick up girls with Jeremy's powers is "Fitzgerald's" in the Heights, just off Studemont and White Oak Dr.

There are also scenes filmed on Pierce Elevated when they exit on Allen Parkway in his best friend's convertible and in a chase scene downtown they pass and end up in front of Chase Tower.

The "makeout point" is on Memorial. [Thanks to Andrew Richardson]

Some locations were in the Museum district and medical center in houston. [Thanks to Fran Miller]

Milby High School in Houston. It's cool to note that the mascot for Milby is the Buffaloe and remained the Buffaloe for Milton High School in the movie. [Thanks to Jay Quintero]

The Bellaire Cardinal marching band provided the background shots at Milby High School. [Thanks to Sondee]

Me and some of my friends were in High School, we were told they were filming at the local college, so if any of us wanted to be in it, to go up there. It was San Jacinto College a little suburb of Houston. We did, and were in the locker room scene. It was a lot of fun! [Thanks to Melissa Humphries]

Poppabear wrote in to say "Not all of this movie was shot in houston. I did the club scene where they are picking up girls with his "mind power" on 3rd st in los angeles right by the Beverly Center. It was in a bar that no longer exists (name, anyone?) and the crew was smart enough to bring in fake beer for the props but forgot to take the real booze off the wall behind the bar. If you look at us, (I was the bartender) we were all wasted as I was serving real drinks to my friends!
