Help me figure this out! I've Googled, read the FAQ here, searched the site to no avail.
The movie I remember was from the 80's.I think it was British, I think I remember the actors had accents.
Setting: Earth, near future, a school, possibly a boarding school
Plot: The earth is under a thick cloud cover and has been possibly for generations. These kids are made to put on sunglasses and stand in front of/under UV lamps to prevent complications of no natural UV exposure. One day the teachers tell the children that the sun will come out for a brief period of time and the kids are excited. One little girl claims to have seen the sun before, but none of the others believe her, and they tease her and lock her in a garden shed. Then, the sun does come out from behind the cloud cover and the kids forget about her and go marvel at the sun. She is forced to enjoy only the little bit of sunlight that comes through and under the slat door, tears running down her face.
WHAT IS THIS MOVIE!?!?!?! Thanks! --LJ

Aaah! I found it myself. For shame, I should have searched IMDB. It's a TV movie from 1982 called "All Summer in a Day". Sorry for gumming up the board!

Sounds additionally rather familiar from a short story--perhaps by Ray Bradbury, I think--we read in junior high, only it was set on Venus, the thing being the sun only came out there once every 7 years.
