I heard the report he died, but now on CNN they just say he was hospitalized with cardiac arrest, so praying he's going to recover.

They say he's in a coma, but other sources say he died. I just can't believe it.

Everyone wanted to see a comeback. One of life's sucker punches. Was anyone here in the UK supposed to see his shows in July?

In spite of everything that has happened over the years, Michael still remained a symapthetic figure to me. Not necessarily given what may have gone on in the bedrooms, if they did in fact happen, but that you could always tell how sad and lonely he was at the top, having never really found love (certainly didn't help having to grow up on the road and suffering at the hands of his egomaniac of a father) and not being able to really find anything to appreciate about himself--things I wrestle with myself a lot. At least now he'll finally find a place where he can at last find peace and happiness (unless, that is, it happens to turn out in the end that this is REALLY just the mother of all publicity stunts; such a thing wouldn't have been below the Michael of recent years, and until we get absolute confirmation of everything, there's always the outside possibility that could be the case...).

I can't believe it. A truly sad day. Irrespective of what people think of MJ's personal life, the guy was a musical genius and will be truly missed.

I was thinking like he already had three lifetimes, he was the child genius who did more as a kid than most in a lifetime, then elevating himself to international Thriller megastar who sold more records than anyone, then on to the more controversial, eccentric media icon whose life often overshadowed any of the stellar music he was making.
