Hey guys..just wondering if you can help me start to compile a list of some of the more obscure 80's movies...ones like Modern Girls, Electric Dreams, RAD, etc. I must be edging towards (170) 80's movies on DVD, but there seem to be lots of the less "mainstream" stuff that I'm missing. I'm jealous when I see you guys talking about all these movies that sound really good...and I simply hadn't heard of them. I don't have the time to sift through tons of old threads to complie my own list (should have been doing this from the beginning). But I figured you guys wouldn't mind helping me out. So please start listing some of the essentials for me....thanks.

I'd be glad to help, but what is obscure to one is a cherished fav to another, so I wouldn't know where to start.

170 is quite a few 80's movies, so it might be best for us all to just start naming a couple we think are obscure but good and you say 'seen it' or 'added to my list'.

Thanks guys...maybe obscure was the wrong word....the 80's movies I have are very mainstream...out of 170...most have probably heard of them; Goonies, Valley Girl, Breakfast Club, Karate Kid, Gremlins, Ghostbusters, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, etc, etc. "Hidden Gems" might be a better choice of words...some of the less mainstream stuff...hope that helps...thanks Valley.

Thanks Pyro..these are the ones I've not seen or heard of:

Brainstorm
Body Double
Little Monsters
The Wizard
My Science Project

Oficially on my list....

Hollywood Knights is classic.

One of the guys from my favourite watering hole became friends because of Hollywood Knights quotes.

Another one of those classic movies like American Graffiti and Dazed and Confused that takes place in a less than 24 hour timeframe.

It is a brilliant classic, but I am always amazed at how many people have never seen it or even heard about it. It's not even listed on the Rewind movies page. I need to write a review for this soon.

Hands down one of the funniest 80s movies...
What a cast of actors that later became big stars as well...

Robert Wuhl ... Newbomb Turk
Tony Danza ... Duke
Fran Drescher ... Sally
Stuart Pankin ... Dudley Laywicker
Michelle Pfeiffer ... Suzie Q

Some of the funniest lines in any movie...

Bimbeau (the cop): Lemme tell you buttholes somethin'! This sh1t's wwaaayyyyy outta line! And you squirrels better have some nuts in your mouth... or you're goin' downtown!
